Frequently Asked Questions

City Technology offer Kanban manufacturing to all our customers.

A Kanban is a set quantity of product held in a 'bin' for a particular customer at CTL.

It is available to be called upon every 7 or 14 days.

Kanbans are priority for production capacity and delivery.

Customers with Kanbans have an advantage of readily available product at pre set quantities.

Customer Kanban Rules
  • When establishing a new kanban the customer needs to agree the kanban bin size, a minimum call off period and the date from which they wish the kanban to be implemented

  • For any new kanban, a blanket order must be placed to incorporate a minimum of 6 months usage. This will be approximately 12 separate call offs.

  • Customers are expected to call off from their kanban every 14 days. However in emergencies a call off can be made after 7 days if it can be accommodated by the production cell

  • The quantity and frequency of all new kanbans needs to be established at least 1 month prior to the anticipated initial call off

  • The kanban bin size needs to reflect 2 weeks usage for the customer

  • There must be 2 weeks stock of the selected sensor ready on the production cell before an initial call off can be made

  • The shipping date for the first and any future call offs will be faxed back to the customer within 4 working hours of receipt of any call off from the customer

  • On receipt of any call off City Technology Ltd has 2 working days to despatch the kanban

  • If the kanban cannot be shipped within this period Customer Services will contact the customer to advise the despatch date

  • City Technology Ltd has 7 days to replenish the kanban after the previous call off

  • Only the agreed bin quantities will be shipped - we will not part ship or over ship

  • If the customer needs more of the selected sensors we request that they place a separate scheduled order

  • If the sensors are labelled at the end of the month and the customer calls off in the following month, we will not re-label the sensors unless there are exceptional circumstances

  • Once the kanban has been established Customer Services will notify the customer of the implementation date and the customer will provide a date for the anticipated first call off
