Speedy Warm up IRidium Bench From City Technology

City Technology Limited, a world leader in gas sensing technology for over 20 years, announce the launch of their IRidium infra-red bench for the automotive gas analyser market.

The most compact and versatile combination of gas sensing technology yet available world-wide, the IRidium provides OEMs with ultra-fast sensing technology for integration into instruments used in the inspection and maintenance of vehicles and in the Repair/Aftermarket sector.

Warm up < 30 seconds
With a warm up period of less that 30 seconds, the IRidium bench gets right to work without delay. Brian Robson, Business Development Executive, Automotive said: 'The IRidium is pretty revolutionary for the sector as fast warm up is crucial for increasing vehicle throughput and operator productivity. The feedback from OEMs has been very positive.'

Ultra compact
Measuring just 32mm x 42mm x 150mm the IRidium has no moving parts, making integration with other analytical instrumentation easier than ever, for a wide range of applications.

Combined infra-red + electrochemical sensing technology
The ultimate in convenience, City's IRidium system combines the latest infra-red technology with proven excellence in electrochemical sensing - a One-Stop Shop.

5 gases
The combined technologies allow 5 gases to be detected: hydrocarbons; CO and CO2 both via infra-red; and NO and O2 by means of the electrochemical technology.

Energy requirement <1 watt
The IRidium uses less than an average of 1 watt of electrical energy to function and a wide range of input voltage from 8-36 volts DC.

User-friendly interfaces
Interfaces for the IRidium have been developed with convenience in mind. A standard interface type - RS232 and asynchronous - along with input and control signals, all combine for easy integration of the bench and sensor/s into analyser instrumentation. Custom manifolds for the electrochemical sensor/s are provided in line with requirements.

Approvals
Designed to meet the requirements of ASM/BAR 97; OIML Class O and the instrumentation applying for conformance to ISO 3930.

David Baines is City's Sales & Marketing Director: 'With our enduring commitment to innovation through Research & Development, we have once again excelled in simplifying gas sensing technology and facilitating instrument development.'
